Characterizing Scott Brown's victory as a one-night stand is way over the top. And the taking off the shirt image is a stomach-turner.
Voters were sending a message. And they know that Brown has to stand for re-election in just 2 years. So sending him to Washington is low risk with the potential for a very high return.
Read the piece, but be ready for that queazy, doesn't-this-belong-in-the-porn-aisle feeling. At least now I know what Dems mean when they say they want politicians who are in touch with the voters.

Is it always who's the better candidate?
What excites me about the Miracle in Massachusetts is candidates like Scott Brown, regardless of party affiliation have the opportunity to come forward and challenge the establishment. We could be ushering in a new era of Americans willing to devote their lives to public service, in a good way for a change. Think of it, no more Coakley's, Obama's, McCain's, Bush's, Gore's etc. We could actually feel good about voting "for" rather "against".
Massachusetts has always been a "red state", they just lost their way for a couple hundred years.
